THE BEGINNING
Equaluna was founded by Jenny Bassett, born in Australia, a mother, a daughter, and a woman shaped by the beauty and brutality of life. Jenny has known the sting of loss, the ache of starting over, and the quiet courage it takes to walk through grief and trauma.
In just two years, she endured the death of her mother from cancer, fractured relationships with family and friends, divorce, a health crisis, the destruction of her home in the Pacific Palisades fires, and the loss of a sense of self. Nearly everything familiar fell away.
Since childhood, animals had been her refuge and teachers. When she discovered the stillness of horses in Malibu, she found a way to listen beneath the noise of grief, to feel the ground under her feet again, and to remember a deeper rhythm of being. That personal journey evolved into guiding others through loss, transition, and renewal.
Since 2019, Jenny has partnered with horses as co-facilitators in the healing process. She is a certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator and is completing the TRH Master Equine Program.
Her earlier career spanned continents—from leading global campaigns for Women for Women International with partners such as Google and UN Women, to curating transformative experiences in luxury travel, philanthropy, and sustainability. She holds a B.A. in Communications and Classics from New York University, along with certifications in philanthropy and entrepreneurship from Harvard.
Today, Jenny brings the same vision, dedication, and gift for connecting worlds into the realm of equine-guided empowerment, bridging science and soul through the quiet presence of the herd
Her path is inspired by a commitment to less suffering and more kindness, guided by breath and the gentle art of being with horses.
